SurfICE 2022 – a very Capsule kind of event!
It’s been super busy at Capsule HQ, so co-founder Liam took a different approach to networking and joined the International Conclave of Entrepreneurs (ICE) on their surf trip to Cornwall!
With their unique approach to community-building, ICE brings together like-minded entrepreneurs to create a truly collaborative network. ICE is not-for-profit which was established in 2009 as the first tech founder community, focused on creating meaningful relationships for members by doing retreats.
The community exists for founders to help each other be better leaders in business, and better people in life. ICE provides lifelong support for founders through communities and events - sharing successes, failures and questions that come from leading in the high growth world.
Capsule was delighted to sponsor their latest event – SurfICE 2022 – as a new member of the community. A long weekend of foraging, surfing attempts (some more successful than others...) and sharing war stories about life in the startup world – Liam came away from the event inspired and energised (and maybe a little bit sunburnt!)
We chose to sponsor the event because of our alignment in values with ICE; supporting purpose-led and innovative startups is at our core. As a B Corp, we focus on helping businesses to incorporate sustainability at every level. The founders went through the startup journey themselves – the ICE community therefore addresses a need that they understand well.
Communities are at the heart of what makes the innovation world so special, and ICE’s unique approach brings together founders as a real support network.

Liam will now go on to become a member of the community for the year, getting access to the wealth of knowledge of the community and bringing his own insurance expertise to support members. It’s not all about the group chats and message boards though – Capsule is set to make other appearances at events throughout the year to get to know members and keep their finger on the pulse of innovation.
ICE represents the best of startup communities – with a focus on the ‘real’ bits of starting a company and fostering a community where members can open up to a truly supportive group.
